CyberKnife is used to treat

How CyberKnife Surgery is done?
Preparing for CyberKnife Surgery
- Evaluation: Post-diagnosis, doctors may recommend CyberKnife treatment depending on the patient's specific requirements. A team of doctors, including radiation oncologists, medical oncologists and surgeons along with medical physicists, radiation technicians and nurses' work together to define the care plan for the patient.
- Imaging and treatment planning: Before the treatment begins an MRI, CT or CT/PET scan is taken to determine the size, shape and location of the tumor. During the procedure of CyberKnife
- The patient is positioned on the table ensuring his/her comfort. The robot moves around carefully to deliver radiation to the selected part.
- At the same time, the VSI system takes the X-ray of the part being treated to provide real-time location and images. This increases the precision and accuracy of the treatment being delivered.
- The patient undergoes 1 to 5 sessions, depending upon the severity and location of the tumor. Each session may last approximately for 1 hour.
After the treatment
